    SPF

    Warning
    Header line found
    Authentication-Results: mx.google.com; dkim=none; spf=softfail smtp.mailfrom=bounce.bulkmailer.example; dmarc=fail (p=NONE) header.from=growthco.io

    SPF result: softfail.

Why it matters: SPF tells receivers which servers may send for your domain. A fail is one of the strongest signals for the spam folder.

    Copyable fix
Publish one SPF TXT record at bulkmailer.example:
    v=spf1 include:_spf.your-sending-provider.com ~all
(Use a single v=spf1 record and include every service that sends your mail.)
    Where the points went
    • SPF-9 / 18
    • DKIM-9 / 18
    • DMARC-18 / 18
    • Alignment-14 / 14
    • Content-14 / 14
    • Links-8 / 8
    • Unsubscribe-5 / 10

Heuristic weights, not a mailbox provider's formula. Score of 70+ is shown as Inbox.

Delays use each server's own clock, so skew can distort them.

    How the trace works

    STOP 1

    Copy the original

In Gmail open the message, choose the three dots, then Show original. In Outlook use File, Properties, Internet headers. Paste the full source, including the body.

    STOP 2

    Trace the route

Press Trace route. The parser reads every Received hop, the authentication results and the message body locally, then walks the line station by station.

    STOP 3

    Fix the red stations

Open any red or amber station to read the exact header line and a copyable fix. Flip What if fixed to preview the score after the change.

    Departures board: your questions

SPF checks that the sending server is allowed to send for the Return-Path domain. DKIM checks a cryptographic signature from the d= domain. DMARC passes only when at least one of them also matches the visible From domain, which is called alignment.

Connecting lines: where to go after the Inbox

Once your message lands, the next job is writing outreach worth opening.
